Our 40 Days of the Jesus Creed continue with days 31 and 32. Day 31 followed 1 Cor. 13:5-6, insisting that love inherently denies the self. Love orients us toward others. One of the highlights of the chapter-- Mcknight talks about anger, and how that is inherently selfish. He says, "Anger is not consistent with lov because love creates an environment of saftey, goodness, and compassion for the other. A Jesus Creed kind of love is not angered because anger attempts to obliterate the other."
Day 32 focuses on the optimism of love. Great chapter. Mcknight focuses on the fact that true Jesus Creed love hopes for love in broken down relationships He says, "But the optimism of love is not a mental trick, as if by thinking positively only good things will happen. The optimism that comes from the Jesus Creed kind of love becomes optimistic because it believes and hopes in God."
It's cool to think how hoping in God and believing in God gives us hope for relationships in our lives that need to be restored.
